Experience:

Currently I have a minimum amount of experience. However, I will let my price reflect that. I’ve done a total of 3 jobs, one retaining wall, one walkway and one Patio. I’ve taken a course about paving stones, by Cambridge. In the course they showed us how to make a patio, driveway or walkway the same way the roads in Italy are made.

Quality:

My sister has been to Italy and she said you could see scuffmarks that you can tell where from horse and buggy wrecks. In the course they told us that using this design the paved area should stay together for 50 years before you have to think about redoing the work. They said the 50 years time is defined as 50 winters and we do not have full winters around here. They said our winters are about 2/3 years. So around here these paving stones done right should last 75 years. They said the base is designed to be strong enough to hold 5 US military tanks stacked on top of each other. So you should have no trouble driving anything including a fully loaded tracker trailer on the paved area.

Patterns and designs:

You may request a brochure with the different patterns and colors on it. You may mix match colors while building a paved area. This would be nice if you have something you want to say in the walkway. I do recommend picking two designs for your walkway. One border design, like a square or something like that and cooler design for the middle.

Pricing:

I can’t give you an exact price with out looking at the job. But it really doesn’t cost much more for paving stones then for cement or black top. And the paving stones should last much longer with much less maintenance.
